Kayleigh Gartland – Paving the way in construction machinery

Kayleigh Gartland’s commitment and passion towards her role as a Business Development Manager with GraysOnline has been acknowledged in both the prestigious ‘Woman in Business’ category in the 2018 Women in Business Awards (Greater Brisbane Region) and in the Irish and Australian Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Young Professional of the Year’ award category.

Kayleigh was a finalist in both of these prestigious awards which recognise and honour exceptional young professionals making a difference across Australia – the visionaries, innovators, change makers, women of inspiration and young achievers.

Kayleigh specialises in the construction machinery auction business, selling earth moving equipment – excavators, workshop equipment, trucks, trailers and dump trucks – to a variety of clients; from small businesses to large corporates.

Her largest corporate client, Excavation Equipment, nominated Kayleigh for the Women in Business Awards which resulted in her being shortlisted for an interview with the judges, and later becoming a finalist at the awards night in Brisbane.

“We were thrilled to learn that Kayleigh was nominated for the awards,” says joint Manager Director of GraysOnline, Chris Corbin.

“At the gala ceremony it was even more exciting when she became a finalist. Her hard work and commitment has paid off and is testament to her achievements within Grays.”

As the only female in her team of ten and as one of a handful of female BDMs working in the construction machinery industry Australia-wide, Kayleigh sees her achievements as an opportunity to pave the way for others.

“I am determined to become a leader in my industry and I am willing to put in the hard work to gain the knowledge I need. I want to be an inspiration to others, to show that there is no limit on where you can take your career,” says Kayleigh.

“I was privileged to be named as a finalist in both of these awards and I hope it demonstrates to women that they too can work in the kind of role I am in.”
